Our world is full of fascinating plants!

At the CGC, we're all about planting Ohio natives in our own yards, but we still appreciate species that thrive around the globe. While it would be wonderful to see these habitats in person, we're excited to offer a little slice of international botany right here in Cincinnati!

Many of the plants we find familiar originated far from here. Through their stories, we can better understand our global neighbors, building local communities based on a common appreciation of the plants on our shared planet. In a time of constant divisiveness and conflict, we can use plants as a common thread to bring us together and strengthen our communities.

In our Plants Around the Planet series, we'll explore significant ecosystems and plants that influence cultures around the world. You'll gain a better understanding of these regions and walk away having heard some new music, tasted a new snack or possibly acquired a new plant.

First up: South America. Join us!

Presenter: Mary Dudley, CGC Ecology Education Manager
