Are you struggling with invasive species on your property?
Our beginner-friendly, three-part At-Home Restoration series will teach you how to assess which invasive plants you have, develop a removal strategy specific to that species, and outline what it will take to manage these invasive plants over time.
CLASS 1: IDENTIFICATION & PLANNING (Tuesday, November 7, 6:30-8pm)
In this class, you'll learn how to identify invasive plants commonly found in urban and suburban Cincinnati and develop a plan specific to their characteristics. People are often quick to remove invasive honeysuckle...but what happens when another more aggressive species takes its place? We'll talk through the process of developing a plan specific to your site and provide a template to help you get started.
CLASS 2: REMOVAL STRATEGIES (Tuesday, November 14, 6:30-8pm)
It's important to use the right treatment at the right time to rid your property of invasive plants. Improper planning can lead to years of fighting the same invasive plant over and over again. The more you know about how the plant grows and reproduces, the more effective you can be at eradicating it. This class will help you understand how to use the right treatment at the right time to ensure your removal efforts are effective.
CLASS 3: LONG-TERM MANAGEMENT (Tuesday, November 21, 6:30-8pm)
Invasive species are persistent. Many will persist in the seed bank for years or be reintroduced to your property from nearby populations. Lasting success relies on follow-up and monitoring. This class will talk through long-term maintenance strategies and how to avoid immediate reinfestation of invasive plants.
