About 94% of all plants known to science reproduce by creating flowers. A majority of these plants are dependent on animal and insect pollinators to spread their pollen and help complete their plant lifecycle but many pollinators are dependent on the health and abundance of flowering plants. The way we treat our yards, gardens, and green spaces have an impact on thousands of species of pollinators that feed on our flowers and blooming trees. During this program, you will discover the wide variety of pollinators that may visit your neighborhood and the steps you can take as an individual to conserve native species. We will see their importance and learn how to contribute pollinator data to science to help our understanding of how to save pollinators in the city!
